2006 Heather Farr Trophy Matches

The amateur team captured a solid victory in the 15th Annual Heather Farr Trophy Matches today at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale. Named in honor of the late Heather Farr and sponsored by Grayhawk Golf Club, Antiqua Group and Mibbs Heesch, the matches pit 10 local, non-touring female professional against 10 top female amateur players in a Ryder cup format. The amateur team recaptured Cloud Girl, the 16” female Kachina Doll, after losing to the professionals in the 2005 matches.
Congratulations to the amateur team.
In perhaps the most interesting singles match of the event, Missy Farr-Kaye, Assistant Women’s Golf Coach at ASU, defeated Assistant Women’s Golf Coach for U of A, Shelly Haywood. The two vowed to make the match an event tradition by competing again next year in the 2007 matches.
